Rumors are flying around the LSU Campus, Baton Rouge, and several news sources that LSU has hired/will hire Cam Cameron as the new offensive coordinator for the LSU Tiger football team.
While there has been no official announcement from the LSU Athletic Department to confirm the rumors, the look at Cam Cameron makes a lot of sense and would bring in some new coaching talent for the team, following a disappointing 2012 season.
If hired, the decision will reunite Les Miles and Cam Cameron, as they coached together from 1987-93 as assistant coaches at Michigan.
Twitter has also been an avenue for the speculation of the possibility of hiring Cam Cameron as a new Tiger coach with a tweet from former Tiger, Josh Dworaczyk saying, "Cam Cameron is the new offensive coordinator at LSU!"
Cameron was fired by the Baltimore Ravens, who just won the Super Bowl, in December (2012). Cameron was responsible for the improvement of quarterback Joe Flacco over the years, voted the MVP of the Super Bowl and also coached Drew Brees while in San Diego early in his career.
If this rumor is true, we should have an announcement from LSU Sports next week after the Mardi Gras holiday.
