Shortly after Seattle-based Amazon release the first version of their Kindle Fire tablet, rumors appeared that soon there would be a Kindle smartphone. Since that time the rumors have reappeared around the sametime that a new version of the Kindle Fire is released. With the release of the release date of the new Kindle Fire only days away those smartphone rumors are back. This time around though there are two online news blogs, Hacker News and techcrunch, citing inside information that the Seattle-based company is creating two smartphones.
Since there hasn't been any official confirmation from Jeff Bezos, little is known about the rumored smartphones. What is known is that both smartphones would most likely run the FireOS, one will be more basic and inexpensive where the other smartphone will have a facial tracking system that uses four cameras placed on each corner to the users a 3D effect and also have a image recognition so that users can take pictures of an item and use Amazon's search to find the same product.
It is also being rumored that these smartphones are being passed around at Amazon's Lab126 facility where they are being kept under lock-down when not being worked on. All the technicians have been sworn to secrecy and are not allowed to take either of the devices outside of the facility. With so much tight security to keep any information on these devices getting out makes the rumors highly suspect.
