Rumors abound in the Star Wars universe (Video)

While the rumor mill continues to churn regarding various aspects of the upcoming Star Wars film (Star Wars VII), remember not to believe anything until it comes directly from the horse’s mouth.

In this case, the buck stops with Lucasfilm, a notoriously tight-lipped company when it comes to divulging details about upcoming projects, especially where Star Wars is concerned. What we know for certain is that J.J. Abrams will direct the next one, set to be released in 2015 and that Lucasfilm plans to release at least two other standalone films in the Star Wars universe that will focus on character development.

Various media outlets have recently reported that Harrison Ford will be reprising his role as Han Solo. However, neither Lucasfilm nor Ford himself have verified those claims, so until I hear something more official, this falls into the category of things that may come to pass, but also may just be rumors in the wind.

Ford has stated in the past that he would be open to returning to the Star Wars universe, as has Carrie Fisher, Billy Dee Williams, Ewan McGregor, and Samuel L Jackson. Composer John Williams has also said he is ready to do more work on Star Wars. The truth is, until it’s released by Lucasfilm anything we read is just rumor and hearsay.
