Rumor: PlayStation 4 will be able to stream PS3 games

According to a report published by the Wall Street Journal, the PlayStation 4 will be able to stream PlayStation 3 games over the Internet. According to sources "familiar" with Sony's plans, the Wall Street Journal reports that the new technology is designed to stream current PlayStation 3 titles on the new console, but will also play new games designed for the Playstation 4 on optical discs.

The Wall Street Journal also reports that this new technology will be unveiled at Sony’s event on Wednesday, according to their sources. Over the last couple of days, two images, shown here and here, have been leaked showing what could be the new controller for the Playstation 4. Another rumor has said that Sony will be focusing their efforts on new play options instead of technical power, although a leaked specification sheet for the PlayStation 4 insists that the machine will be significantly more powerful than the PlayStation 3.
