Last week, a Japanese retailer reported that a lighter Playstation 3 model, CECH2100A, was being released in the near future. A different retailer has recently revealed a possible release date for the new model.
According to the Japanese online shopping website, Rakuten, the CECH2100A Playstation 3 will be available in Japan on Friday, March 19th. The new model weighs less than the current one found in the market by approximately .02 kg, which could mean that Sony may have shrunk and/or removed some internal components.

Its probably just some tiny tiny tiny change to nothing, will be exact same tech size.

I wouldn't say it's useless. The weight difference is not what is important. This tells us that Sony made some internal changes, which probably means they're using the 45nm graphics chip instead of the 65nm chip.
This means the system will use less power and generate less heat. It's also cheaper for Sony to produce, so that helps facilitate price cuts.
there is a mistake in the article. it should be 0.2kg and not .02 kg.
Looks like this may come with Firmware 3.20.Unless 3.20 is specifically for Torne compatibility,worth a look if you guys get a chance.
