After many delays and constant teasing from Polyphony Digital, Gran Turismo fans may finally be able to mark their calendars for when the 5th game in the series is coming out. News on when Gran Turismo 5 would finally be released has been hard to come by but a Sony rep at last week's Game Developer's Conference narrowed the date down a little to October according to an Italian gaming site.
Gran Turismo 5 has been hotly anticipated since originally announced at E3 2006 and will be the first in the series to feature damage modeling as well as NASCAR, World Rally Championship, and Super GT licenses. It will also support 3D HDTVs and head tracking in conjunction with the Playstation Eye.
