Rukus Rocks the Edward Jones Dome prior to Monster Truck Show

“Like a Monster across the stage they rocked” the Edward Jones Dome prior to the Monster Truck Show on Saturday February 4th. This was the second appearance by Rukus at the Edward Jones Dome prior to the Monster Truck Show and due to the positive reaction from people at both shows they should be invited back to play again the next time the Monster Truck Show comes again.

Rukus is a four piece rock band that plays both original and cover music. They have played pops and other nightclubs in the St. Louis Metro area. Most of their shows and popularity stems from years of playing in mostly the Belleville and Edwardsville area. Their record label is Vortex Records and their originals have been played on some of the local radio stations. Personally, I have their latest CD and it really has that Old Time Rock and Roll sound mixed with an influence of alternative rock and hard rock as they were widely influenced from listening to bands over several decades. The band is a four piece band that includes Jimmy as lead guitarist and vocal, Johnny (Mr. Merry weather) backup vocals and guitar, Brad on bass and vocalist, and Troy on the drums. Actually, all four members sing each show and have come from different bands to unite. They have been together for the last decade. They all learned to play as teenagers and they just get better with age.

Like a fine wine they have grown to become a powerful force in the local metro east area. They are now just getting the attention they deserve. The O’Fallon Progress will be running a story about them soon. They contacted members of the band earlier today and after playing and rocking the dome for the second time on Saturday fame may just be right around the corner for this band that has its roots in the metro east area on the Illinois side of the river. They have created a record under the label Vortex records. They have upcoming shows booked in Edwardsville, Belleville, and other towns in the metro east area.

I have listened to their latest CD and they are a band that you have to check out. If you love rock, country rock, and new original rock music these are the guys you have to see. They have a Facebook page and this is their link: http://www.facebook.com/?sk=ff#!/rukusband?sk=info . They also have a website where you can actually listen to songs they have done and to hear them play or see them live check out this link: http://www.myspace.com/stlrukusband . Their personal bio and a sample of their playlist read as follows:

Bio:

 THIS IS RUKUS

RUKUS is a four piece Modern Rock band from the Edwardsville Illinois area. The band’s line up consists of John Merrymann on Rhythm Guitar and Vocals, Jimmy Galbierz on Lead Guitar and Vocals, Troy Nelson on Drums and Vocals, and Brad Craddick on bass. RUKUS brings many years of experience to the local and national scene. Studio, radio, and touring they have done it all and are still having fun playing live and it shows. They have a loyal following that has enjoyed hearing their favorite songs performed live and with ATTITUDE. The duel marshall attack separates them from a lot of bands. Strong rhythm, tight breakdowns and vocal harmony’s makes this a great band to see live. They are always learning new material from the current songs of today to the classics of yesterday every show is different. It is a must see!! RUKUS has performed in many of the premier locations throughout the St. Louis and Metro east area for the past few years. Putting a new twist on the Cover band scene by playing material people want to hear and dance to!!

The RUKUS band comes to you fully contained with a full Sound System which is capable of handling the largest rooms. They also have their own Light Show.
