Melbourne, FL - September 14, 2013 – Outdoor enthusiasts getting ready for their next outdoor trip can be quite challenging as they make packing lists, pick and assemble the right equipment. Depending on your outdoor adventure selection whether it be backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, skiing or any number of other outdoor sports, one should never over look the watch you select. I personally have at least a dozen watches to pick from. My collection includes Timex, Casio, Victroinox, and Nautica watches. I have solar and battery powered watches. One of my favorite watches was a simple Timex Camper watch. I use to wear it all the time until I lost it. I really liked this watch. But for some unknown reason, I never replaced it. Instead I have been wearing Casio solar watches for the past three years. But that brings me to where I am today.

At the this year’s September 2013 Surf Expo, I spent the first day cruising the wake, surf, skate and SUP isles having fun visiting booths and talking with sales and marketing folks. The second day I saved for the apparel, shoes and accessories isles. As I was walk the 1600 isle I came upon the Bertucci watch booth tucked between Drenol Surf Company and Verison Street Team. Once I focused my attention to the Bertucci booth, I knew I had to stop for a visit. Field watches, an entire booth dedicated to type of watch I love to wear.

Let me start with a quote from www.military-watches-commend.com history page, “A century has passed since military watches were first worn by soldiers in battlefields, and have continued to attract the attention of men all over the world today. How military watches continue to evolve and develop in the future is certainly something military watch enthusiasts look forward to.”

Working the booth was Michael Bertucci. Michael gave me the grand tour of all the different styles of field watches with most of the Bertucci watch collection being modeled after Elgin, Hamilton, Bulova, and Waltham military-spec watches from WWII and Viet Nam. He started the company 10 years ago. The Bertucci watch brand and design has grown over these years to where it is today. The company was started in 2003 with their first famous A-2T Original Classic watches being sold in 2004. Their sales grew where Bertucci became a leader in solid titanium field watches in 2007. In 2008, their A-2T Vintage kick started their international sales. The A-3T Vintage 42 and the A-4T 44 Vintage watches were added in 2008. The year 2011 saw the brand expanded to include the A-2T Pro Color watches. By 2012, the Bertucci brand of field watches added four more distinct styles, the A-4T High-VIZ Super Luminous, the A-2T Super Sport, the A-2R, DX3 Field and the M-1T Pro Color watches.

The typical Bertucci classic Field watch has the following features:

• Matte or polished case finish
• Rugged U.S. patented DX3® solid titanium or a poly-resin case
• Precision all-metal jeweled quartz analog movements
• Scratch-resistant hardened mineral glass crystal
• Titanium or stainless steel screw-down case back
• Durable titanium or stainless steel screw down crown (setting knob) is ergonomically offset at 4 o’clock
• Swiss super luminous hands & markers
• Integrated unbreakable titanium or steel band retention lug bars
• 7/8" or 1” wide Long lasting and comfortable heavy-duty 2 ply nylon or top grain leather bands
• 12/24 hour markings w/ date dial
• Day-of-the-month window (A-2T Original Classic & Field Colors, a-4T Vintage 44 Yankee Illuminated, C-1T Tonneau, and the M-1S Womens Series)
• 10 year lithium or 3 year battery life
• Fits most wrists

The diameter of the field watches vary from 40mm – 44mm. For outdoor enthusiasts with smaller wrists, Bertucci makes a women’s watch that is 29.6 mm wide and midsize watch, the A-1S, which is 36mm wide.

All the Bertucci field watches are water resistant to 100 meters or 328 feet. This comes in handy when one can never predict when they may be in a water situation.

As military watches in general have evolve over time, Bertucci has been able to keep the military watch history alive with their entire line up of Classic Field watches.

Where original vintage WWII watches can cost between $400 and $1,000, you can own a Bertucci original Classic Field watch at a fraction of the cost. The Bertucci Field Watch price range is from $59.99 to $439.99 depending on the style. Bertucci watches can be purchased at you favorite online retailers like Amazon and REI.

Remember that owning a Bertucci means that you can wear history on your wrist.

For more information on each Bertucci Field Watch lineup visit their great web site or their FaceBook page.

Until next time be safe in the sun and have a great day on the water.
