Former mayor of New York, Rudolph Giuliani, has described the controversial mosque planned for the vicinity of ground zero in lower Manhattan as “divisive” with the potential to create “more anger, more hatred.”
According to the NBC New York's report, the Republican politician, and a former presidential aspirant believes that the project is “creating tremendous pain for people who have already made the ultimate sacrifice.”
“I was the first person on Sept. 11 to step forward on the heat of battle and say “No group blame, do not blame Arabs, it's a small group,” he reportedly said on “Today” show, in reference to the terrorist attacks on New York City in 2001.
Even though, Giuliani recognizes the right of individual Americans to freedom of religion, he opines that the real question that begs for answer is whether the promoter of the project should build on the site given the circumstances surrounding the location.
Meanwhile, ordinary Americans are protesting against the location of the proposed mosque in their own ways, employing various means of doing so.
Construction workers at the World Trade Center express their protests by wearing vest with anti-mosques imprint and stickers on their hard hat.

I agree - the people protesting the placement of the mosque on the grounds that Islam is a religion of violence, or that the Muslims are slapping the World Trade Center (and hence America) in the face are only going to give more evidence to those Muslims who *are* on the fence about opposing the U.S. that we are a nation of hate, anger and greed. In other words the Americans protesting the mosque are going to create more enemies and animosity towards the U.S.
I guess they want us to stay at war forever...
In my opinion, I understand why they don't want the mosque there. Totally do. However, this is America. We are supposed to be open and fair to all religions. Key words, supposed to. America is not always fair, as are many other countries. In France they are outlawing the burka...
People are always going to be biased and racial in their motives. That is simply human nature, sad to say. I am all for free religion practice, but I do oppose this mosque. For one reason only: people lost their family member at a huge rate. It was the worst terrorist attack to date for our nation, and it will always be a deep hole in peoples hearts.
Therefore I think out of pure respect for their grieving it shouldn't be done there. It's just painful. I didn't have relatives die in the tragedy, but I could certainly understand the anger of someone who did. Just recently, an Arab taxi driver was stabbed in Ny...tensions are already growing. I guess the only thing we can do is pray to whatever God you serve for peace here and at nationally...the world is troubled though. Has been for sometimes.
It's offensive to suggest that Americans need to be “sensitive” to 9/11 victims when building a mosque. Muslim Americans should not be expected to endlessly apologize for a few crazies out of the billion or so worldwide. Equating the Muslim religion with terrorism is bigotry. Period.
BTW, our military is over there supposedly helping Muslims. It makes no sense to think Muslim AMERICANS are our enemy.

If Muslims and their supporters such as the Jewish NYC Mayor Bloomberg and President Hussein Obama respect the feeling of 9/11 Victims families and their wish, they will stop dividing the Nation and build that Mosque elsewhere away from the Islamic attack ground.
Muslims are invading slowly our Country using the American freedom of religion, Saudis are spending their petrol dollars on building thousands of Mosques all over the Country to spread the same faith teaching that all Muslims follow including those 9/11 terrorists, and we Americans are asleep, covered with a warm blanket called Islam is the Religion of peace.
If Muslims are 2% of America's population now and they have thousands of Mosques all over America and have this much trouble, the question is:
How many more Mosques and how much trouble America will have one day in the future when they become 10 or 20 or 50% of our population?
By the way that one-day will be sooner than we think, if we don’t wake up for our Nation before it is too late.
Got something to say?
