Rudolf from Port Orchard was saved by his human angel

Just over a month I brought you the story of Rudolf, the abandon dog in Port Orchard. His human protector, Markisa Griffin, has spent many months trying to help him but he has avoided every attempt that Markisa and others have made to capture him. On March 7, 2013 I received a message from Markisa saying that Rudolf has finally been captured and is no longer on the streets. Markisa has proven to be a real animal hero in everything that she has done for her beloved Rudolf. The dedication that Markisa showed to help this dog is truly an inspiration to everyone.

After spending months of feeding Rudolf, trying to play with him, getting him accustomed to people being around him, bringing other dogs to play with him, winning over the hearts of many animal lovers, tears through the cold night worrying about him, trying to tend to an injured paw a few weeks ago and much more, she was finally successful in helping this dog and inspiring us all. The message from Markisa read “RUDOLF IS SAVED!!!!..I met a wonderful lady named Charlotte who has been bringing her female dog out to play with him every night. Today Rudi followed the female pit right into her house. He was then leashed and is now safe and warm at the humane society where he will get medical care, fixed and then turned over to the pit rescue ♥” It truly is a win for Markisa and for all animals and their devoted protectors and rescuers. She is a hero to Rudolf and a role model to the rest of us.

Rudolf is currently in the care of the Humane Society where he will receive some medical care for a recent paw injury and a thorough check up to make sure that he is otherwise healthy after the many months that he has been on his own. Last night he spent his first night in an unknown amount of time in a warm and safe place with plenty of food an fresh water. Markisa must truly have angel wings because she has been his guardian angel for a very long time. Rudolf story doesn't end in tragedy due to Markisa's hard work and dedication to this loving dog that will someday be someones best friend. Donations for his care can be made under the name Rudolf at the Kitsap Humane Society.
