Thursday morning on FOX and Friends, Senator Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) attested to his belief that President Obama is against the 2nd Amendment and lacks the political courage to admit it. Reporters at the Huffington Post mocked the senator for his statement saying that the president was “bold” for coming out with his executive actions that are “angering gun nuts.” The senator condemned the president for his actions which he says would not have prevented any of the mass shootings that have occurred in the last few years. While Rubio said he doesn’t believe Democrats would make an attempt at repealing the 2nd Amendment he did admit,
“I do think, however, that they don’t fully understand the 2nd Amendment, how it’s supposed to apply, and they are willing to test it, and they are willing to see how much they can infringe upon it. And my problem with that is that you’re going to do that in exchange for policies that don’t work.”
That afternoon on his talk show, Rush Limbaugh, the “Big Voice on the Right,” agreed with Rubio saying,
“Liberals lie about who they are because they know that if they told the truth they would never win another election.”
Rush went on to condemn Bob Schieffer for his remarks on “Face the Nation” this past Sunday. Schieffer equated Obama’s taking on the gun lobby to past presidents taking on the Nazis and civil rights legislation. He said the man who took out Usama bin Laden should be able to take out the NRA. Gun owners are insulted and incensed at his comparing law abiding Americans to Nazis and terrorists.
Rush spoke of liberal’s condemning the Right as “violent extremists” promoting a hateful agenda and referred to liberal’s producing a movie depicting the assassination of President Bush. He scorned President Obama for exploiting children to promote his agenda. Liberal reporters condemned Limbaugh claiming he was mocking the children Obama used and not Obama for using children.
