Ruben Garcia Jr. plans to make his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut on Saturday in the Blue Jeans Go Green 200 at Phoenix International Raceway on Saturday, according to an announcement on Thursday from SR2 Motorsports. He'll drive the No. 24 Toyota entry for SR2.

"I can't believe this is finally happening; it seems like it's all a dream," Garcia said. "I know and fully understand that I must take everything in a calm and responsible manner during the race weekend. My biggest goals right now is to enter and finish the race and attain as much time behind the steering wheel as I can. I know the results will come with time."

Garcia, and 18-year-old, has been competing in the NASCAR Mexico Toyota Series the past two seasons. He won the Aguascalientes 240 last season. He also notched three top-fives and 11 top-10 finishes in Mexico Series competition en route to a third-place finish in the championship points standings. The previous season, he was named 2012 Rookie of the Year.

Garcia competed at PIR in the Mexico Series in 2013, finishing third. There are 39 cars on the entry list for Saturday's Nationwide race at Phoenix, and with 40 needed for a full race field, Garcia will not have to worry about having to qualify his way into the race.

Qualifying for the Blue Jeans Go Green 200 is scheduled to get underway shortly after noon ET and can be seen live on FOX Sports 1. The race, itself, is scheduled to take the green flag shortly after 3:30 ET. It can be seen live on ABC.
