Designers Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce took a seriously religious turn in their Dolce & Gabbana Womenswear Fall/Winter 2013/2014 collection, which they just featured at Milan Fashion week at the end of February 2013.
There are two very prominent themes in this Dolce & Gabbana Womenswear Fall 2013 collection and that’s religiosity represented by religious iconography, and royalty, who are considered to be “divine,” represented by the use of chunky medieval/baroque crowns as accessories in this collection. Models also accessorized with thick jeweled crosses.
Several of the Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2013/2014 garments are representative of Roman Catholic religious icons in mosaic art, representing saints.
That religious iconography carries over into Dolce & Gabbana handbags and dainty clutches, some rhinestone-encrusted. If you love bling a lot, Dolce & Gabbana has you covered.
Of the non-religious pieces, Dolce & Gabbana offers a lot of lovely lace dresses, suits, winter coats including some that are plaid, and mix-and-match separates. However, it’s the richly ornate religious pieces that make the biggest impact!
Attending the Dolce & Gabbana Fall/Winter 2013/2014 fashion show and looking as fashionable as ever were models and fashionistas Bianca Balti and David Gandy, both donning black for the occasion.
