Royal Telephone Line offering free phone service

Who do you call, text, e-mail, or message on FB when you are troubled?  We live in such an open society; and in a world in which news travels faster than a speeding bullet; and maybe even the speed of light.

You can be in Buckhead of Atlanta and reach anyone all the way across town in Faytteville in mere seconds.  There is a computer store or cell phone store on just about every corner.  This link will take you to at least 30 local places to buy cell phones in and around Atlanta.  But they are not free.  But there is a free service offered by the Royal Telephone Line. See details below.

And all of these stores - they’ve got “your” number. They know you cannot live without these devices – so they keep updating them; and going up on the fees.  Folks may not have food in the house or are near foreclosure on their homes; but they got ‘them’ cell phones.

But now is the chance for you to be connected through the Royal Telephone Line for free service, no hidden fees, free long distance – and no bills to pay.  Yep – that is right.  It is free.

While cell phones have no wires – you are still tethered to them like a ball and chain; or lock and key.  You can’t eat without them, sleep without them, go anywhere without them – horrors to realize you left your cell phone at home.  Some can’t even go to the bathroom without them.

When we have troubles, we want to share them right away with everyone.  Folks will tell the most personal things on Facebook and other social networks that it would have taken and gun and knife to get out of other generations.  “Hmmm, so you are going on vacation for two weeks.  “Ah,” says the burglar – now’s my chance.”

After all, don’t we hear that a burdened shared becomes half a burden?  Does that mean if we share our burdens with at least four friends, then the burdens will go away; and our friends will be stuck with at least ¼ of them?  But…if they tell a friend (and they tell a friend) the burdens divide and divide until suddenly, you have no more burdens.  Right?

Oh that, we wish.  Whatever do people have to worry about today?  Let me see.  No money, no friends, no cooperation from family, no job, no way to pay the ever increasing taxes, no one who understands “what we are going through,” no help, no consideration, no one to take out the garbage?  That is just to name a few.

And oh yeah!  No money to pay the utilities and mortgage; but we got Facebook and cell phones.  Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to share all these burdens; and never have to worry about paying the phone bill?

We have hundreds of numbers stored in our electronic gadgets.  We can be out on the north forty and get to the phone before the second ring; (or the second clicking sound of an e-mail received) before butter melts in a hot pan.

Folks will risk their lives texting and talking on the phone while driving.  They will throw the baby down in the grocery buggy if a “friend” calls.  Folks can’t eat dinner with their family without their cell phone lying by their plate.  “Let’s see, knife, folk, spoon and cell phone – okay I’m ready to eat.”

Half the world is addicted to Facebook and goes into withdrawal when they haven’t checked their posts in the last half hour.  “Gotta know that Mary Alice had green beans for dinner tonight – right?”

And…so many, when depressed, just sit and play the games on all of the “time wasters!”  The baby cries, the dishes pile up, you can write your name in the dust; everywhere; but on your cell phone.

Taking stock of the number of hours spent chatting with the world (and comparing it to the time spent listening to our spouse and children) is mind boggling.

And the list of things at the end of the day that just does not get done – does more than boggle the mind.

We try to safe guard all our numbers, codes, and passwords; but who are we kidding – the whole world knows.

But do you know that most of the time, friends can’t do anything; and sometimes they get bored with those who are burdened down; and they let it go in one ear and out the other?

How many true friends do you actually have on Facebook, My Space, or in your E-mail address book?  Really? On the other hand, does you headache late in the evening with all that phoning, chatting, and texting?  Does it make you snap at your spouse and children?

What exactly is a friend?  One who knows all about you and loves you anyway?  One who enjoys your company as long as you can “do lunch” and be in the loop?   If you have one or two really close, good, and faithful friends in this world you are fortunate – most of the rest are mere acquaintances.

And how much of your time, effort, and energy do you give to mere acquaintances?  How much do you give to your family?

But there is one friend who wants to hear from you so badly.  “What?”  “You didn’t know you missed a call?”  “How could you?”  He has been trying to get in touch with you for a long time; and you just put off responding.  Should you turn the “ring tone” up a little higher on your phone?

Ever hear the song, ‘What a friend we have in Jesus – all our sins and GRIEF to bear – what a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer?”

What you say, you don’t have His number?   You thought I never would get to the free Royal Telephone Service, didn’t you?

Frederick M. Lehman wrote this song in 1919; and it is still as up-to-date and the day he wrote it.

The Royal Telephone:

“Central's never busy, always on the line. You may hear from heaven almost any time. 'Tis a royal service, free for one and all. When you get in trouble, give this royal line a call.”

Refrain: “Telephone to glory, oh what joy divine! I can feel the current moving on the line.  Built by God the Father for His loved and own. We may talk to Jesus through this Royal Telephone.”  (Sung after each verse).

“There will be no charges, telephone is free. It was built for service, just for you and me. There will be no waiting on this Royal Line, “Telephone To Glory” always answers just in time.”

“Fail to get the answer...Satan's crossed your wire… by some strong delusion, or some corrupt desire? Take away obstructions… God is on the throne. And you'll get your answer through this Royal Telephone.”

“If your line is grounded, and the connection true... has been lost with Jesus, tell you what to do.  Prayer and faith and promise mend the broken wire, till your soul is burning with the Pentecostal fire”

“Carnal combinations cannot get control of this line to glory, anchored in the soul.  Storm and trial cannot disconnect the line.  Held in constant keeping by the Father's hand divine.” ~ end ~

“When you are burdened and need a friend so true – turn your heart toward Jesus and He will always be there for you.”

If we spent half as much time with our family, reading the Bible, and praying for each other, our homes, church, and nation – we would see things change – real change.
