The royal baby portrait has been released! After much anticipation, Prince William and Kate Middleton released two photos both taken by Kate's father, Michael Middleton. On Aug. 19, the two family photos were released and PEOPLE Magazine posted them, reporting that they were taken in the gardens of the Middleton's home in Bucklebury earlier this month.
It was speculated that William and Kate would not release professional photos taken by a photographer like royals in the past. Instead, Prince George's maternal grandfather took some casual shots and the photos came out lovely. Kate's parents' dog Tilly is in one of the pictures as is the couple's dog, Lupo.
The royal baby portrait was released about one month after Prince George was born. In the picture, the young Prince is sleeping, swaddled in a white blanket. Kate is wearing a berry hued dress and proud smile. Prince William matched that smile while wearing a blue collared shirt. Overall the family looked happy -- and of course trendy.
The informal photos proved just how down-to-earth William and Kate are. They are definitely making up their own rules and people love them even more for it. The photos are lovely and the world cannot wait to see more in the coming months.
The royal baby portrait released today can be seen above. At Prince George's christening in the fall, professional photos will be taken and eventually released to the public.
