The royal baby photos are here, just as promised last week, and these pictures of the royal baby with Kate and William were taken in the backyard of the Middleton estate in Bucklebury. Kate Middleton and Prince William look relaxed with baby George sleeping in Kate's arms, but one thing is missing from these pictures. No it's not Lupo, he's there, it is the lack of any hint of fashion designer for attire that either Prince George or Kate is wearing!
According to the Hollywood Reporter on Aug. 20, the pictures were released by Kensington Palace via Twitter today, almost one month after the royal baby was born. When Prince George made his public debut on the day he came home from the hospital, he was wrapped in a swaddle which sported little bird designs. That swaddle sold out within hours, it was the hottest thing going for babies for weeks.
With the announcement last week that these pictures of the royal baby were forth-coming this week, the fashion minded waited to see what the next big baby "must have" would be, but that didn't happen. With Prince George wrapped in a generic-looking swaddle today, maybe the new trend will be back to basics, when it comes to baby clothes.
The baby swaddle buying frenzy of last month, as talked about on IBT a few weeks back, won't have another go around due to these pictures, there's nothing to go on when wanting to imitate the royal baby's attire. Again, it could be a back to basics trend!
The company, aden + anais of Brooklyn, N.Y., got quite the boost in sales all because of a 30 second look at the royal baby wrapped in their label's swaddle. The royal baby's bird-print blanket is part of the Jungle Jam Swaddle Classic Muslin Collection. The swaddle comes in a 4-pack and ordinarily retails for $49.95.
The new pictures released today of Prince George had him donned in a pure white swaddle with nothing that stood out as evidence for the fashion detectives to find the maker. Not a hint of a label on the royal baby's swaddle was offered up in either of the two pictures. Kate, who is the icon of fashion, was seen from the waist up, so you don't know if she was wearing a dress or if her top was a blouse.
While the royal baby pictures released today were adorable and they gave you a window to take a quick peek at the happy royal family of three, the hint of fashion was missing. One thing for sure, the fashion minded public will have plenty of chances coming up to see Prince George in baby clothes that will appeal to the masses because they'll be fit for a prince!
