From elegantly dressed servers to beautiful Wedgewood teapots and china to the exquisitely and deliciously prepared afternoon tea goodies, royal afternoon tea in the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead Lobby Lounge is fit for a queen.

Royal Tea is The Ritz version of “the works” when it comes to afternoon tea. It begins with a glass of sparkling wine or champagne. After the wine, strawberries with Grand Marnier and whipped cream are served followed by a selection of savory chicken salad, fish, egg salad and cucumber tea sandwiches usually served at afternoon tea parties. A vegetable-filled puff pastry turnover, and ham and mushroom mini-quiche add a delightful surprise to the traditional fare.

Next, warm blueberry scones with Double Devon Cream and strawberry preserves are served followed by Berry trifles, fruit tarts, miniature pies, assorted cookies, chocolate parfait and other delicately prepared tea pastries.

Royal Tea is served in the English tradition, with Mighty Leaf loose teas steeped in individual teapots and poured through sterling silver strainers into Oberon Wedgewood bone china teacups. Orange Jasmine tea blended with orange slices, jasmine blossoms and black tea is the house favorite, with a close second being the African Amber rooibos blended with hibiscus and exotic African fruits. If you enjoy the tea, you can purchase tins of it from the hotel gift shop.

The service is excellent and guests are invited to linger and relax in the warm and cordial atmosphere. Royal tea is served at 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm daily at a cost of $34 per person.
