Rowlett Eagles boys basketball team thump the South Garland Colonels 80-42

The Rowlett Eagles boys basketball team won their first game of 2013 Wednesday night against the South Garland Colonels by a score of 80-42. They improve to 15-2 and 2-0 league play. The Eagles got back on track after they dropped two games in a row at the 55th Annual Whataburger Tournament this past week.

The Eagles were lead by their leading scorer Jeffrey Carroll, who poured in 28 points, along with nine rebounds, and two block shots. At times it seemed too easy as Carroll connected on two ally-oop passes for easy lay-ups. Nathan Hawkins also added 12 points, four assists and five rebounds. Catch the box score here.

The Colonels seemed to be weighed down by Christmas dinner, as they seemed to be moving in second gear all night. The Colonels were out scored in the first quarter 23-3.

The next game for the Eagles takes place against the Naaman Forest Rangers on Friday January 5th 7:30pm.
