Rowlett Eagles basketball team face Lakeview Centennial Patriots Tuesday night

The Rowlett Eagles boys basketball team is gearing up for the most important game of the season, against the Lakeview Centennial Patriots on Tuesday night February 5th at 7:30pm at Rowlett High School.

The Eagles are one game back of the Patriots in league play . Tuesday night’s game could determine who will be the 5A Region II District 11 champions of Texas. The Eagles have been playing well since dropping their only league loss in the league to the Patriots 76-50 back on January 11th.

The Eagles however did beat the Patriots in the Garland ISD Curtis Culwell Tournament, where Kanard Robinson was named MVP, and they won the whole tournament. The Eagles beat the Patriots 63-55, so the Eagles know they can beat them, and the rubber match is on for Tuesday night February 5th.

The Rowlett Eagles are being lead in scoring by Jeffrey Carroll. He is averaging 22.2 points a game and is monster with a total of 121 defensive rebounds for the Eagles. He is followed by Nathanial Hawkins who is averaging 16.2 points a game and has one more defensive rebound than Carroll.

Both Carroll and Hawkins are committed to college programs - Carroll is committed to Oklahoma State University, and Hawkins is committed to the Nebraska Corn-huskers. Austin Luke is another player who is committed to play college basketball for the Belmont Bruins of the Ohio Valley Conference.
