During that last two months, I've been emptying goodie bags and boxes of premium beauty products to try. From hair to nails to lips, I've been testing and playing with some amazing products. Here's a selection of what I picked up:
Clear shampoo and conditioner: I have natural hair, so I can pretty much use anything. I liked the thickness of the shampoo and the fragrance of the moisturizer.
Bullet Acne Aid: I'm addicted. It really does work wonders on pimples, drying them up without leaving marks. I started using it as an all over serum, which is why I ended up using the whole thing faster than I thought possible. I would pay real money for this. In fact, I'd buy a lot of them so I wouldn't run out for awhile.
Stila Stay All Day Lipstick in 'Fiery': I am not usually a lipstick person, but my favorite color is red, and this red (so aptly named Fiery) drew my attention instantly. I just wanted it. I love the tiny little tube- it's lie a secret weapon. It's easy to apply, and the color just glows. It makes me want to throw all my clothes out, buy one perfect black dress and call myself by a new and more glamorous name. My only thing is that when it dries down, I can feel it on my lips. It does stay put though, I've looked in the mirror after eating and drinking and it was ON.
Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss: Love this. Love , love, love. It goes on so perfectly, not to much n the brush and I barely have to think abut putting it on. It has just enough color, and it's not obnoxiously sticky. It has a sweet candy-like smell that I adore. Love. It.
Origins Modern Friction: I got a mini-facial with this at NYFW, and ran to get a sample. I love it. You smooth it over your face before taking a shower, and it's kind of warm. en when you get in you just gently swoosh it around your face. Definitely leaves you with cleaner, smoother skin. I see the difference in photos and it's amazing.
Origins GinZing: Another goodie bag treat. I couldn't believe my luck when I got it. This picks up where the Modern Friction leaves off. It has a clean, citrusy scent and is pillowy soft in the jar. It has a wonderful consistency and feels like luxury when you smooth it into your skin. A definite must have.
Fleur de Temps No. 4 Body Lotion: It was ok. Kind of watery, but with a lovely fragrance.
RUSK W8less 12-in-1 Miracle Treatment: Was absolutely enchanted with this! All I had to do was mist it on my hair, and it really did soften and moisturize it instantaneously. I have to buy this, even though it's about $13.00. But to walk out the door knowing that your hair is exactly what you want it to be? Can't put a tag on that.
Grande Mascara Lash Boosting Formula: I was told that this tiny tube would have my lashes tarantula-leg thick in just 90 days. Supposedly it has one of the same ingredients as Latisse, the eyelash growing medication shilled by Brooke Shields. I don't know about that, but I love using it. I have a few mascaras and it's on my rotation. Nice and black, my eyes look amazing, but it's not gloppy. As good as my Bobbi Brown, Sephora, and Benefit mascaras.
Marcelle Gentle Remover for Sensitive Eyes: I went for this because, as you may have figured out, I love mascara and eyeshadow. I just don't want it all over my pillowcase. This is great stuff, as it removes shadow and mascara, but also the stay on type lipsticks that are resistant to tissue. This leaves the skin pretty oily, but that's not bad thing, really.
Isaac Mizrahi for Tweezerman tweezers and nailfile: I got the full size professional tweezers with slanted tip at the launch and I love using them. The splatter paint pattern is just adorable, and while I'm plucking I remember meeting Isaac Mizrahi and it just kind of works for me. The candy dot multi-colored nailfile makes my man/pedis like a party. It really does lift the spirits to have such cute grooming tools!
Essie nail polish in 'TwinSweater Set': Literally, the red every girl can wear. Very 50s, loaded with the sexy demure ladylike quality that red nails bring to the table. Makes we want to wear pencil skirts and penny loafers and date a football player. It's that perfect.
Illamasqua 'Swarm' topcoat: A fun way to punk up your look without exerting undue energy. Just apply over another polish to create a web of octagonal glitter and tiny little black filaments. It really does look like a swarm of something on your nail.
