Roundabouts Consignments $10 bag sale is Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stuff as many clothes in the bag as you can! All proceeds to benefit the Connie Lieding Scholarship Fund through the National Crittenton Foundation. Last year’s sale raised over $3,000 and Roundabouts Consignments is hoping to double that amount this year.
This is a sale thrifty fashion shoppers won’t want to miss. There will be a tremendous selection of like-new career and casual pieces in every style and size. It will be easy to get over $100 worth of clothing into one bag. It’s a great way to update your wardrobe on a budget, and also to help young women through the Connie Lieding Scholarship Fund.
The National Crittenton Foundation and the 27 members of the Crittenton family of agencies support girls and young women in 31 states and the District of Columbia. The foundation focuses on supporting marginalized girls and young women, helping them to be empowered, to heal, and to be healthy.
The Connie Lieding Scholarship Fund is dedicated to the memory of Ms. Connie Lieding who worked at the Crittenton Agency in Charleston, South Carolina. Connie’s daughter Beth recalls her mother talking about the girls with respect and genuine affection. “My mother admired the will and determination of the young ladies to make their lives better and to change for the sake of their children. She wanted them to know they could make it on their own.”
Though Connie was not able to complete her own college education, she realized that education could have a major impact on the lives of young women and that it was their most likely route to long-term economic security.
In 2011, Connie’s daughter Beth Burrell established the Connie Lieding Scholarship Fund in her mother’s honor to provide educational support through scholarships to young women who successfully complete their programs at Crittenton agencies across the country.
Many of you know Beth as one of the ladies who sorts clothing brought in for consignment at Roundabouts Consignments. Always busy, always fashionable, and always with a ready smile, Beth is a valued member of Roundabouts and of the Crittenton Foundation.
Thrifty fashion shoppers can find the best deals possible and, in doing so, help Beth realize her goal of educating marginalized young woman in her mother’s memory.
To fit the most items possible in your bag, roll items, rather than folding or stuffing them, and fill every empty space. Roll up a tee or tank inside a shoe, a scarf in the toe of a slipper, or tightly rolled clothing in a handbag.
