Trevor Brazile wins 19th world championship, results from Round 6

Trevor Brazile is now the most decorated cowboy in rodeo history.

Earlier in the day, Brazile and his wife, Barrel racer Shada Brazile, made an appearance at the American Country Awards at the Mandalay Bay Events Center to present an award, then headed straight to the Thomas & Mack Center, where they both competed in Round 6 of the National Finals Rodeo.

Brazile surpassed his hero, steer roper Guy Allen, by winning an incredible 19th world championship after he and team roping partner Patrick Smith posted a time of 4.8 seconds to win the round. With the round won – making it his record 55th – his earnings for this year’s NFR bumped up to $57,392. Additionally, the money he’s earned from Steer Roping, $26,462, is what resulted in his 18th world championship.

Brazile has earned $312,579 for the 2013 season while defending world champion [Team roping heeler] Jade Corkill’s $153,159 places him second in the all-around standings; Brazile’s brother-in-law, Tie-down Roper Tuff Cooper, is in third with $144,742.73.The second half of the 2013 National Finals Rodeo starts tonight with Round 6, live from Las Vegas.

Bareback RidingFull Results
Casey Colletti won the round after posting a score of 86.5 on ‘Smack Daddy’ and added $18,629.81 to his winnings.
Second Place went to Caleb Bennett who rode ‘Peaches N Cream’ for a score of 84 earning him a check for $14,723.56.
Wes Stevenson scored an 83.5 on ‘Thunder Monkey’ to collect $11,117.79 to place Third.

Steer Wrestling Full Results
Dean Gorsuch won the round with his time of 3.2 to take home the top check of $18,629.81.
Second Place went to Tyler Pearson after her posted a time of 3.6, earning him $14,723.56.
With a time of 3.8, Dakota Eldridge took Third Place and the check for $11,117.79.
Bray Armes, Wade Sumpter and Hunter Cure tied for Fourth Place and each won $5,208.33.

The Minor brothers, Riley and Brady posted a time of 5.0 to take Second Place and add another $14,723.56 to their winnings.
Nick Sartain and Rich Skelton placed Third with a time of 5.2 and each took checks for $11,117.79.

Saddle BroncFull Results
Jesse Wright rode ‘Goin South’ for a score of 83.5 to win the round and take home a check for $18,629.81.
Chad Ferley (‘Tango’) and Taos Muncy (‘Gold Coast’) tied for Second with a score of 82 and each took home $12,920.67.
Tied for Fourth Place were Cole Elshere (‘Griz’) and Jacobs Crawley (‘Fire Lane’) after they each posted a score of 81 earning them both $6,310.09.

Tie-Down RopingFull Results
With a time of 7.2, Justin Maass won the round and his first check of the NFR, taking home $18,629.81.
Shane Hanchey was right behind with a 7.3 to win Second Place and collect $14,723.56.
Cliff Cooper and Tyson Durfey tied for Third Place with their time of 7.4, taking checks for $9,465.14

Posting a new record time for Round 6 of the NFR, Taylor Jacob takes another First Place check for $18,629.81.
Mary Walker placed Second with a time of 13.64 to take home a check for $14,723.79.
Third Place went to Brittany Pozzi with her time of 13.69 earning her $11,117.79.

Bull RidingFull Results
Trevor Kastner won the round with a score of 88 on ‘Wild Eyes’ to take home the check for $18,629.81.
J.W. Harris placed Second riding ‘The Grinch’ for a score of 86, earning him another $14,723.56.
Cody Teel took Third Place with his score of 85.5 on ‘Morning After’ taking home a check for $11,117.79.
A three-way tie for Fourth went to Chandler Bownds (‘Damn It’s Good’), Parker J Breding (‘Canadian Tuxedo’) and Tyler Smith (‘Snake’) giving each rider checks for $5,208.33.
