The Calgary Roughnecks did not get off to the start they were looking for Saturday night to begin the 2013 National Lacrosse League season.
According to the Canadian Press, forward Kasey Beirnes of Elora, Ontario had three goals and two assists and veteran forward Colin Doyle of Kitchener, Ontario added five assists as the Toronto Rock defeated the Calgary Roughnecks 13-11 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary.
The Rock had a 10-5 lead in the third quarter before the Roughnecks attempted a comeback, but it was too little too late.

An impressive crowd of 11,653 attended the game.
