Roughnecks beat Rock Saturday

According to the National Lacrosse League website, the Calgary Roughnecks trounced the Toronto Rock 19-13 at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Saturday night.

The Rougnecks (6-3) got off to a miraculous start, outscoring the Rock 7-0 after the first quarter, en route to the six goal victory.

The Rock looked like a team that was playing on the second of back-to-back nights. They looked a lot fresher as a unit in losing an 11-10 nail biter to the Edmonton Rush on Friday evening.

The Roughnecks were led on Saturday by Curtis Dickson, Shawn Evans and Jeff Shattler. Dickson notched six goals and four assists for ten points, while Evans and Shattler had a goal and seven assists each.

Calgary's next game will be in Colorado on March 8. The Mammoth lost 11-9 to Rochester in the only other game in the National Lacrosse League on Saturday. The Roughnecks' next home game will be against the league leading Rush (8-0) on March 14.
