Rough sex, shower photo, ‘dirty little secret,’ part of Jodi Arias murder trial

On Jan. 8, 2013, the Jodi Arias murder trial will resume, with prosecutors attempting to prove the Ariz. woman killed her former lover, Travis Alexander, in cold blood.

The trial began last week and the sex practices of the couple were a large part of the evidence presented by both the prosecution and Arias’ defense attorney, Jennifer Willmott.

According to Radar Online, Willmott’s opening statement indicated her client had engaged in rough sex with Alexander. During the act, Willmott said Arias dropped his camera and he began attacking her, thus prompting her to defend herself. This, she said resulted in Alexander’s death.

Investigators discovered photos on the camera of the couple having sex.

In addition, the last photo of Alexander, posing nude in the shower was one of the images recovered.

Willmott also told the jury that Alexander, a practicing Mormon, would tell Arias, “…oral sex wasn’t as much of a sin as vaginal sex,” and later convinced her that “anal sex wasn’t as much of a sin as vaginal sex.”

She stated that Arias was considered Alexander’s “dirty little secret” and that he mentally abused her by making her dress in revealing outfits when she cleaned his home.

According to Radar, prosecutor Juan Martinez disputed Willmott’s statements, saying Arias is a cold blooded killer who brutally murdered Alexander.

Arias, 32, is accused of murdering Alexander, 30, in 2008 by shooting him in the head, slashing his throat, and stabbing him 27 times. She initially denied being in Alexander’s home during the killing, but later claimed she witnessed two people entered the house and murder him. After police recovered a camera memory card with images including Arias dragging Alexander’s lifeless body along the floor, she admitted to killing him, saying it was in self-defense.
