The DNA Lounge was packed to the rafters Friday, January 21st as Heklina and Peaches Christ hosted the 12th annual Trannyshack Star Search Competition. Ten hopeful contestants competed against one-another for the crown, title of Miss Trannyshack Star Search 2011 and $500.00 in cash.
Sitting on either side of the stage, judges Ambrosia Salad, Anna Conda, Deena Davenport, Elijah Minnelli, LeMay, Suppositori Spelling, Miss Rahni and Pollo Del Mar had a difficult job to do choosing the winner from a group of contestants that included a faux queen and the 2010 Drag King pageant winner Hamlet Gram and the Wham Bam Thank You Mamas.
The contest opened with a performance by Ms. Trannyshack 2010 Miss Rahni. Following Rahni’s performance, hostesses Heklina and Christ introduced the eight judges to the mixed crowd. After short introductions, the judges were seated above the stage and contestants performances immediately got underway.
Contestants April May June, Hamlet Gram and the Wham Bam Thank You Mamas, Chasity Belle, Kalisto, Miss Mona G. Hawd, Tess Tickle, ManiCure Versace, Honey Mahogany, Rotissary Ethnicity Jackson-Houston Ross and Lindsey Slowhands all gave their all on the DNA Lounge stage. Many of the performances made use of DNA Lounge’s amazing lightening and video projection system.
After all was said and done, Lindsey Slowhands was named 2nd runner-up, Chasity Belle was named 1st runner-up and Rotissary Ethnicity Jackson-Houston Ross was named Miss Trannyshack Star Search 2011.
During the celebration, Miss Rahni said, “I am pleased to hand down the crown to an amazing performer.” In between congratulations from contestants and pictures, Jackson-Houston Ross said, “This is such an honor. There are no words to explain how I feel right now.”
This has turned into an amazing year for Jackson-Houston Ross. Last year, she was named Miss SF Gold Rush 2010.
