Rosie's back: She's 'The View's' newest host (again)

It's official, Rosie O'Donnell is returning to her gig at "The View" as the show sent out an official tweet this afternoon, "ABC confirms Rosie O'Donnell returns as co-host of #TheView w/ moderator Whoopi Goldberg for Season 18."

This news comes shortly after it was confirmed that both Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd wouldn't be returning for the show's next season and ever since news of their departure was confirmed, O'Donnell's name was circulating in the press as a possible replacement.

O'Donnell, 52, previously took her seat at "The View" table back in 2006 but after two hugely publicized (both on and off the show) fights with Donald Trump and co-host Elisabeth Hasselback, she left in 2007, a month before her contract was up. As of yet it will just be O'Donnell and Goldberg spear heading the show, who are both notorious for being extremely close-minded and opinionated. Will this be round 2 for O'Donnell?

After her infamous 2007 departure from Barbara Walter's show, the opinionated talk show host found a brief home with Oprah and her network with "The Rosie Show." It was, however, short-lived as The OWN Network failed to succeed in its' early years.

As an Emmy winner (and 5-time nominee), O'Donnell has proven that she's a natural, though still controversial, choice to succeed the now retired Ms. Walters. Do you think O'Donnell will thrive this time or will she, eventually, see a similar ending?
