Rosie O'Donnell has had great weight loss success following vertical gastric sleeve surgery last August. The former daytime talk show host says that she's already lost about 50 pounds and her journey, though difficult at times, is going really well. Rosie got a major wake-up call in 2012 when she had a heart attack at age 50.

"[My weight loss] is good. I had the vertical gastric sleeve last August, after my heart attack almost a year before that, and I've lost almost 50 lbs. [The surgery] is only a tool. It's not like a magic pill, but it's working," Rosie told People Magazine.

Rosie O'Donnell's weight loss has been documented by the media and many of her fans are happy to see that the comedian is eating healthier and taking better care of herself. As a lot of people know, it's not easy to lose weight -- and to keep it off -- but Rosie has done a great job and she has taught herself better techniques when it comes to eating.

"They take out two thirds of your stomach – which holds the hunger hormones – and as a result of that you're not hungry anymore. I'll go to dinner with my wife, who's 105 lbs. soaking wet, and we'll order a petite filet. I'll have three bites and she'll finish it," she said.
