Rosie O'Donnell weight loss: Actress opens up about desire to lose weight

Rosie O'Donnell is proud of her weight loss, and she is talking about the process yet again. The actress has shared about her massive loss of weight every step along the way. It has been a challenge, but it was a challenge O'Donnell took on willingly. On May 17, Wetpaint Entertainment shared the latest comments made by O'Donnell, and she is not done losing the weight. In fact, she has a goal in mind, and she is going to keep working at it.

How much more does O'Donnell want to lose? The comedian admits her goal is to lose 30 more pounds. That will take some time for her to do. She revealed to People Magazine that she currently loses about a pound every other week. At that rate, Rosie might see her goal weight by the end of 2014. Her doctor would like to see Rosie weigh about 150-160 pounds, and she admits that she has not weighed that amount since she was in eighth grade. Right now, she is at about 180 pounds.

Rosie realized that in order to live a longer life that she needed to lose weight. Obesity is known to have a negative impact on a person's health. Some of the diseases that obesity can have a role in are type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and some types of cancer. Rosie had a attack in 2012, and that is what pushed her to lose weight. Another heart attack could kill her. She is now losing the pounds with a healthy diet and exercise, but the actress had vertical gastric sleeve surgery.

Since the surgery, the actress has completely changed her diet and how she looks at food. O'Donnell said the following about the impact surgery has had on her eating habits: "They take out two thirds of your stomach – which holds the hunger hormones – and as a result of that you're not hungry anymore. I'll go to dinner with my wife, who's 105 lbs. soaking wet, and we'll order a petite filet. I'll have three bites and she'll finish it."

Rosie has been very open about her weight loss. She shares about her life on Twitter, and she has even shared selfies showing the progress she has made in her battle to lose weight. It is a battle. One pound every other week might not seem like a fast pace, but losing weight is not easy. Anyone that has tried to lose weight themselves know just how much of challenge it is. She is an inspiration for others that are trying to lose weight.

With her progress, she is showing that losing weight can be done. Slow and steady win the race, and that is what she is doing. Here is to Rosie losing the weight she needs to lose.
