Former co-host of
The View Rosie O'Donnell has found herself a brand new talk show gig.
Rosie O'Donnell gave a lengthy interview to
Howard Stern on Monday morning's
Howard Stern Show broadcast about her new gig as the host of
'Rosie Radio' on
Sirius XM satellite radio. During the interview,
Rosie O'Donnell repeatedly credited Howard Stern for 'discovering' her potential radio talent.
Rosie O'Donnell's appearance on The Howard Stern Show in February 2009 brought an end to a long-running feud between the current King of All Media and the former Queen of Nice. Rosie O'Donnell was approached by Sirius XM satellite radio producers almost immediately after The Howard Stern Show appearance to discuss potential broadcasting opportunities of her own. Howard Stern expressed frustration in June 2009 when Sirius XM executives
failed to include him as part of the press announcement for Rosie O'Donnell's new radio deal.
"I never thought that I could do it. It wasn’t until this show that I even thought I could try it," said Rosie O'Donnell frankly on Monday morning's Howard Stern Show broadcast.
Rosie O'Donnell's 'Rosie Radio' will be a two-hour weekday broadcast from 10AM-12PM featuring O'Donnell's perspectives on the news of the day. Rosie O'Donnell has signed a two-year contract with Sirius XM for the 'Rosie Radio' gig. O'Donnell will broadcast from home, allowing her to spend time with her family during her widely publicized split from partner Kelli Carpenter.
Rosie O'Donnell told Howard Stern that 'Rosie Radio' will feature occasional celebrity guest appearances but that it won't be 'celebrity driven' in the way that The Howard Stern Show is. "I quit that because I don’t want to talk to people about what movie they’re promoting.”
