Victoria's Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley outfoxed a short list of Hollywood starlets to land the lead female role in 'Transformers 3.' Now in production, she'll be facing the robots as the new love interest for Shia LaBeouf.
In the wake of Megan Fox's departure (assisted or otherwise) from Michael Bay's "Transformers 3," the Hollywood casting machine went into overdrive to find a suitable replacement and fast. After rumors that starlets Brooklyn Decker and Sarah Wright were in contention, news is spreading that it was initial front-runner Rosie Huntington-Whiteley who has landed the plum role.
The 23-year-old Huntington-Whiteley, who hails from Great Britain, will be the love interest for star Shia LaBeouf in the epic effects actioner, which has just started production. A model for Victoria's Secret, the budding star (who reportedly dates action hero Jason Statham), will be making her major film debut with the project.
Industry insiders say Bay really wanted a fresh face for "T3." What may have given her the edge is the fact that she's worked with Bay before on several Victoria's Secret campaigns. From lingerie to love interest? Only in Hollywood!
