The Rose Bowl Parade on Saturday morning had a first. A presidential float was in the lineup this year and it reflected the life and times of Ronald Reagan. The float, definitely a reflection of American history was a winner this morning. The National trophy for best depiction of life in the United States, past, present or future was awarded to the ‘Ronald Reagan: Inspired Freedom, Changed the world.’
The Presidential float, panels of pictures that reflect the life and time of the man who once was a Hollywood Star and went on to be President of the United States, was a big part of the Rose Parade this morning. The float stands over three floors high and every piece of visual art is easily identifiable to anyone who looks at it. From the panels of photographs that are on the sides to the statue that stands on front of the float, this honors our President in a whole new way.
There is another award the float could win and that is the viewer’s choice. The final results of that award doesn’t come in until after 2pm pacific time today after the voting as closed.
Take a close look at the video clip of the float. It is quite beautiful!
