Short and sweet: The glory of being the champions of the 100th Rose Bowl Game goes to the Michigan State Spartans. They defeated the Stanford Cardinal 24-20 in Wednesday’s game at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena.
Stanford led 10-0 in the first quarter and going into the second half was up on Michigan State 17-14. The Spartans came back and took home the Lay Leishman trophy, finishing the season with a 13-1 record.
The Rose Bowl Stadium posted on Facebook that the attendance count for the game was 95,173. Spartan fans came out in droves for the Rose Parade as well, with a sea of green being seen in the stands and crowds going to and from the parade.
