Rory McIlroy has reportedly dumped longtime girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki, and the final straw was said to be an intimate pic Caroline posted of Rory on Twitter last month. McIlroy is in the midst of revamping his golf game, and perhaps his personal life as well, as golf legend Gary Player made comments earlier in the week that seemed to paint Wozniacki as a distraction to his game. Player said Rory needs to find a wife who, "will actually almost dedicate her life to him being a success", according to CBS Sports on Oct. 13
Caroline posted a photo of a sleeping Rory last month in which he's sleeping while wearing eyeglasses and with his mouth gaping open, with a caption indicating he was jet lagged. The split is now being reported to have come shortly thereafter, according to The Irish Independent .
The stories circulating say Wozniacki was devastated by the breakup. Rory has lots of respect for Caroline and says that their time together was good, but he believes it's time to move on. He also wishes Caroline nothing but the best, said a source.

But Gary Player made a few comments just ahead of the official split reports, that seem to paint a rather dim picture of life on the pro-golf circuit.
Player said you can't play golf with worries. He added that you can't deal with managerial problems or women problems while trying to win tournaments.
Player noted that there are several pro golfers who never reached the heights he and fellow legends Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer reached, because they didn't have the dedicated wives they were lucky to have.
Nice sentiment to their own wives aside, the comment comes across sounding somewhat antiquated.
As to finding that special dedicated wife, Player said that's hard to find today, because women are extremely independent these days.
