Lincoln Hall is quickly establishing itself in the Chicago music community as a top venue. Northside Housing and Supportive Services has been a positive presence in Lakeview through its work with homeless men since 1983. From 12 PM - 4 PM this Saturday, May 22nd, support Northside Housing by attending their Roots Rock Lunch Benefit.
What you get: Music of the Americana variety from Chicago residents and roots rock revivalists. The bill is topped by Tweed Records duo The Spares, with support from Dawn Xiana Moon, John Wesley's Band, and more (apparently). There will be a lavish lunch buffet and you will get one free drink ticket.
What you give: If you go to the NSHSS website linked above, you can buy a ticket for $25. Wait until Saturday, and you'll be buying your ticket at the door for $30. Of course, this being a benefit, it goes beyond that. The proceeds will be used by NSHSS to support their many programs that help homeless or previously homeless "transform their lives and attain housing, employment, and stability."
Supporting this institution seems like a no-brainer, so check out some music and eat lavish food at a great Chicago venue and kill two birds with one stone.
