Delta Winnipeg

Arrival Experience: The Delta Winnipeg is the largest hotel in town connected to the most meeting space in Manitoba. The RBC Convention Centre is a one-minute walk (via sky bridge) to the hotel's lobby and helps draw significant meetings and convention business to this recently remodeled luxury hotel. Apart from city skyline views, balconies in most rooms and friendly service, the remodeled interior follows Delta Hotel's latest design enhancements brandwide. This property does infuse local flair in the décor such as trendy lamps that slightly resemble wheat stalks and fabric patterns in the clubby lobby that recall the region's prairie land. Colorful boutique design seating makes the lobby pop, and the friendly reception desk is proud of the remodel. An electric fireplace warms the lobby feel, and guests are drawn in further to the lounge area or up the escalator to the meeting facilities.

Dining: Blaze Bistro and Lounge is the main restaurant serving breakfast to dinner in a rustic space. A fireplace crackles in one corner, but at inspection, the entire space was preparing for a trendy design overhaul to match the lobby's open and welcoming feeling. A café and snack shop offer everything from salads, snacks, Starbucks coffee drinks, or other to-go goodies. The Elephant & Castle pub and restaurant across from reception is a popular local spot for gathering with friends and can be especially busy when groups are in house.

Accommodations: All rooms were gaining a full refurbishment with modern décor that is designed to cater to the connected traveler. For instance, the smart desk has a shelf to hold the room service menu and other paperwork to increase work space. Numerous plugs are within easy reach, and the speaker phone adds convenience. All of the room's electronics are hard-wired (they do not have cords plugged into wall outlets) to provide more sockets for guests to use. Outlets by the beds are especially popular, and the smart desk has a USB socket and power port to connect smart devices to the large flat-screen TV facing the beds. King or queen-sized beds are topped with duvets and crisp cotton linens. By the entryway, new shelves are meant to mimic residential appointments where guests can easily place keys, phones, or hang jackets on the coat racks. Coffeemakers are also placed here to make it easier to fill them with water from the bright, modern baths. Guests on the hotel's new club levels have access to a private lounge for complimentary breakfast and evening snacks.

Conclusion: Meeting space is this hotel's primary calling card. On its own, the conference capacity is significant, but is a huge draw when the adjacent convention center is taken into consideration. The hotel also boasts the city's largest hotel health club facility with two floors of exercise equipment, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, steam room, sauna, and locker rooms. This is an amenity-rich, value-oriented downtown hotel that will please large groups and individual travelers alike.
