Rookie Blue to return for a third season

Just a couple of episodes into season 2 of Rookie Blue, it's been renewed for a third season of mishaps for the rookie crew. Filmed in Toronto, this Canadian produced summer drama series also airs on ABC, which certainly helps pay the bills. Production will begin later this summer.

Shaw Media, Global's owners, and ABC announced the renewal together today, just after noon.

Last summer's premiere season was considered record-breaking, and its 2nd season debut on June 23 drew 1.5 million viewers in Canada, making it the top Thursday night drama for those 18 to 49. Currently, it's the the top program on American television Thursdays at 10 pm.

Yesterday, Peregrym appeared on Access Hollywood Live (Citytv Toronto, 5 pm) in an extremely uninsightful interview. It wasn't her fault, it's just that the show is beyond the casual atmosphere you expect from a talk show. They showed a clip of her modelling clothes in a store, but they introduced it as "this is when you were looking for any random gig to make money". She tried to correct them that it was actually in promotion of the movie Stick It (2006) with Jeff Bridges, but they weren't listening.
