"Rookie Blue" fans, we have some good news and we have some bad news. For the good news, ABC announced the season 5 premiere date on Monday, March 24. For the bad news, it's going to be a longer wait.

In the press release, ABC reports that "Rookie Blue" season 5 will premiere on Thursday, July 17 at 10 p.m., which is later than usual. Also, once again, get ready to meet new characters who will shake up the familiar dynamic, as change is still a theme. But don't worry, your favorites will still be back, as Missy Peregrym (Andy McNally), Gregory Smith (Dov Epstein), Ben Bass (Sam Swarek), Travis Milne (Chris Diaz), Enuka Okuma (Traci Nash), Charlotte Sullivan (Gail Peck), Peter Mooney (Nick Collins), Priscilla Faia (Chloe Price), Matt Gordon (Oliver Shaw), Rachel Ancheril (Marlo Cruz), Melanie Nicholls-King (Noelle Williams), Adam MacDonald (Steve Peck) and Aliyah O'Brien (Holly Stewart) are all returning for the fifth season.

As for the two new characters, once again, one of them is a new rookie. Matthew Owen Murray will be paying Duncan Moore, a.k.a. "Selfie" (yes, "Selfie), who is described as "the very picture of a fresh-faced millennial: confident, eager to impress, and excellent at pointing out mistakes, particularly other people's." When he has trouble fitting in at 15, the officers will have their hands full with the challenging and well-connected rookie. Uh-oh, he already sounds like he's going to be a big problem for our officers.

The other new character is Inspector John Jarvis, played by Oliver Becker, and he has an agenda: to find out the real story about 15 Division. Is it made up of heroes or is it a "minefield full of screw-ups"? He's both pleasant and menacing, and he is "a political spin-master of epic proportions," who is out to make his mark and shake things up at 15.

In case you forgot, as season 4 ended, Sam was shot and his life was hanging in the balance, after he and Andy shared a moment in the ambulance, during which she told him, "I love you. You're my story." Where will Andy and Sam's relationship be in season 5?

"Rookie Blue" season 5 premieres July 17 on ABC. What are you hoping to see this summer at 15?
