Kevin Ford is actually suffering mental side effects from when he was assaulted. This is an interesting approach to take because it means that it is partially not his fault. Then at the end, Marlo realizes that Kevin isn’t even responsible for the death of the young boy. His brother is. All of this makes Kevin an innocent in a sense, and it is really weird to think that after all the episodes the viewers have observed him. The twist that Kevin isn’t the one who hurt the kid is great, but it would have been better if Kevin had just snapped, and it wasn’t because of a brain injury. What are your thoughts on all things Kevin and Abe Ford?
There has not been many McSwarek moments this entire season. Sam was off with Marlo, and then Andy was with Nick. Anytime Sam and Andy interacted, there was not really a sense of romance or a reminder to viewers that they are a couple you should root for. There were moments with Oliver, where he reminds Sam or Andy of things, but Sam and Andy had very few moments together. This episode does a great job of bringing back all of those emotions. Surprisingly, it starts before Sam gets shot. Andy’s story to Sam in the ambulance is fantastic. It will be interesting to see how the writers handle all of this next season. Are you happy to see the return of McSwarek or are you a McCollins shipper?
This finale ends with everything up in the air. Aside from Oliver, no one who was injured is stable. Chloe still hasn’t woken up, and her husband is going against the doctor’s and Dov’s orders for surgery. Sam is currently undergoing surgery, and he appears to have lost consciousness before arriving at the hospital. Nothing looks good. Marlo may have been fired. At the very least, she has been suspended. Luke makes the call, but how much authority does Luke even have? There is a lot happening in this finale. What are your hopes/predictions for next season?
