Andy: “This morning I was thinking, you know, my life is pretty good. You know, a nice boyfriend. No drama, just tugging along, no big deal. A walk in the park, literally I was walking in the park with Chloe, and I blinked.”

“Blink; All By Her Selfie” is the June 19 two hour premiere of “Rookie Blue" Warning: this article contains spoilers. "Rookie Blue” airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. CT on ABC.

Dov and Andy’s friendship may be my favorite thing ever. I love that we see them one on one talking about their various relationship problems. It adds some humor to a darker episode. Plus the two of them are there for each other. We get to hear how Andy feels about Sam and Nick, and then how Dov is processing the Chloe marriage twist. I would love to have more Dov and Andy scenes together. Wouldn't you? Serious question time: would you rather have roses or a bear?

Of course then they end up being held hostage in a diner. They just can’t catch a break. I like that this is a “case” but Dov and Andy aren't cops at the moment. We still see them fill that role by trying to keep everything under control. This is a great way to have a case without really having one. It would have been too much to have a normal case on top of all the other drama.

The SIU investigation at the precinct thankfully doesn't up much of the episode. It is simply there because it is something that would happen after a police shooting. However, the Traci storyline comes out of nowhere. It adds drama to an already drama filled episode. The writers could have held off on this until the following episode. Plus, it would have been nice to have some hints leading up to this moment. There may have been some Dex and Traci drama at the end of last season, but that was almost a year ago.

The best part of Oliver having this new gig is his conversation with Andy about how she is handling her rookie. It’s a great conversation. Oliver is still very much her training officer. He gives Andy tips on how to train her rookie. Their scene in Oliver’s new office is one of the reasons why I love “Rookie Blue.” Not gonna lie, I really wanted to see Oliver train Selfie aka Duncan Moore. It could have been glorious.

Traci is focused on making it an eight hour day. Seeing as how in the first half of the premiere we learned that Dex was going to get lawyers involved, it is a little weird that we don’t really continue this. Yeah, Traci doesn't want to break her promise to Leo, but that could have been a normal Traci storyline before the bombshell of the lawyers. We don’t even learn more of what Steve found on his background check on Dex. It would have been nice to even just have Steve get a phone call or a file with the background check results.

There is a little bit of stuff at the hospital. Sam and Sarah bicker. There isn't much development of their relationship, except for Sarah putting doubt in Andy’s mind. It would have been better to focus on Sarah and Sam’s relationship because we know very little about them. Andy doubting which guy to be with is nothing new. Sorry, it’s not. It would have been much more entertaining and interesting to explore Sam’s relationship with his sister. Would you liked to have spent more time with Sam and Sarah?
