The ninth hole of the LPGA Australian Open, hosted at Royal Canberra Golf Club, is a long four par, stretching 370 meters (405 yards). There’s a pair of bunkers guarding the front portion of the green. Oh, and watch out for the stampede of kangaroos.
Karrie Webb and caddie, in the picture above, look on at an unusual ‘Kangaroo Delay’ during the first round Thursday. More than a dozen marsupials hop their way onto the fairway, impeding play for a short time, before moving on and letting the golfers get back to playing.
These players had to be thinking ‘This is a whole lot tougher than the windmill hole.’
