After three years as the head football coach at Jellico, Brad Lawson has resigned his coaching post with the Blue Devils.
He has accepted a job as an assistant coach at Knox Central (KY) high school.
It is a going home of sorts for Lawson who is from Corbin, Kentucky.
Lawson spent the last three seasons as the Blue Devils and complied a 2-28 record as Jellico was 1-9 in 2013.
Jellico Offensive Coordinator Ronnie Lasley has been promoted to replace Lawson as head coach.
"Yes, coach Lawson did resign and I've been pressed into action," Lasley joked.
Actually it will be the second time that Lasley has served as the Blue Devils head coach as he was the head man from 2000-06 and had some success.
Lasley led the Blue Devils to four Class 1A playoff appearances (2000, 2001, 2002 and 2004) but Jellico is still looking for their first playoff win in school history.
