After three successful seasons, Shanti Das and Marlon Nichols introduced season four of ATL Live on the Park with soulful performances by Ray Lavender, RaVaughn of Compound University / Columbia Records and Sony Red’s Chrystian. Held at the beautiful Park Tavern; an indoor / outdoor venue overlooking Atlanta’s skyline, the premier event brought out some of R&B pioneers including Damien Hall of GUY and Ronnie Devoe of New Edition, actress Brely Evans, music executives Jennifer Drake of ASCAP and Byron Wright of BMI, Derek J of RHOA / Bravo’s new show “Fashion Queens”, comedian Joe Clair, Brandi from the group Blaque, Radio One Program Director Hurricane Dave, fashion designer Mychael Knight, up and coming artist Mishon, Good Life Music Group’s new artists Trudo and Frontstreet and more.
The excitement and energy around last night’s season opener was felt as soon as guests arrived. Celebrity DJ, DJ Trauma greeted guests with a soundtrack of classic funk, soul and R&B while host, Lifestyle Specialist Kenny Burns kept the audience engaged with his comedic antics. New artist, Chrystian opened the show by performing new singles, “Genie” and “Go.” His performance and sex appeal captured the crowd, proving why he is Sony Red’s newest breakout artist. RaVaughn Brown, Ne-Yo’s new artist, showcased her strong and powerful vocals by performing her latest singles, “Better be Good,” featuring Wale and “Same Ol’ BS”. Headliner Ray Lavender closed the evening performing fan favorites including “My Girls Got A Girlfriend” and a cover of Sam Cooke’s classic “A Change is Gonna Come”; an emotional tribute he dedicated to his late father. His performance also debuted his latest single, “We Love”.
Last night’s show proved why ATL Live on the Park has been the best monthly concert series in Atlanta; giving music lovers the ultimate live music experience. March show was a success, leaving high anticipations for season four. ATL Live on the Park is brought to you by Gentleman Jack.
