According to a Feb. 24 report from Bleacher Report, UFC champ Ronda Rousey nearly suffered a devastating wardrobe malfunction during the main event of UFC 157 in Anaheim, Calif.
Rousey's left breast nearly came loose while Liz Carmouche was on her back working for a neck crank, and the star judoka admits a nip slip was in the back of her head.
Rousey says she was distracted by the possible wardrobe malfunction, and the fallout it would bring.
"I was thinking about my bra, actually. I kept thinking, I didn't order this one myself, so they gave me my weigh in bra for the fight," Rousey said at the UFC 157 post-fight presser. "If you look back, I was adjusting myself at one point while she was on my back. Multitasking!"
Rousey came close to suffering wardrobe malfunctions on two separate occasions during the fight.
The first came while Carmouche locked Rousey in a tight standing neck crank in the opening minutes of the first round.
Rousey's left breast was nearly exposed during the scramble, as she wasn't used to the sports bra that was worn during the UFC 157 bout.
The second time during the fight that Rousey came close to a wardrobe malfunction was when Carmouche landed an up kick that landed clean on Rousey's left breast.
The up kick from Carmouche came close to pulling Rousey's top down, which would have exposed her fancy lady parts to the thousands in attendance at the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., along with the thousands watching at home.
Luckily for Rousey, she was able to stay covered up during the fight.
"On the ground I feel so comfortable. I don't ever feel like I'm in danger, so I don't mind taking a lot of risks. I felt fine with her on my back, I was thinking more about keeping my sports bra up while she is trying to choke me," Rousey said. "I felt very safe and in control even though it didn't look like that."
In the future, Rousey may want to wear a double sports bra to make sure her breasts remain covered for the duration of the fight. Many female MMA fighters also wear compression shorts to stay covered up on the bottom half of their bodies.
Will Ronda Rousey's near nip slip result in a formal dress code for female UFC fighters?
Not likely. UFC officials will likely leave it up to the females to dress appropriately inside the cage.
