Ronda Rousey's boyfriend still a mystery following UFC 175 win over Alexis Davis

According to a July 6 report from the New York Daily News, UFC bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey cemented her status as the baddest woman on the planet by knocking out Alexis Davis in the first round of their fight in the UFC 175 co-main. Rousey, 27, needed just 16 seconds to earn the finish, as she rocked Davis with a knee to the body and strikes to the face. By all accounts, it was a majestic display of violence by Rousey.

Rousey, who remains undefeated, proved at UFC 175 that she's the greatest female bantamweight in the world. There are no more questions about her skills inside the cage. She's a beast when it comes to striking, and she still has a devastating submission game in her arsenal. However, UFC fans were left wondering after the fight who her boyfriend is.

Since the only people cornering Rousey at UFC 175 were her striking coaches, fight fans thought the star judoka's boyfriend would at least make a cameo inside the cage after the fight. After all, Davis was cornered by her husband, Flavio Meier. It's quite common for MMA fighters to be cornered by their boyfriends or girlfriends, since most are fellow fighters or coaches.

Unfortunately, Rousey's boyfriend was still a mystery following the bout against Davis. The only people seen alongside Rousey after the UFC 175 fight were her sister, her mother and her coach, Edmond Tarverdyan. At the UFC 175 pre-fight press conference last month, Rousey said during the fan question-and-answer session that she has a boyfriend. She did not reveal exactly who she is dating, but she did confirm that she's in a relationship.

Following Rousey's shocking admission, UFC fans took to various message boards to speculate about her new-found romance. Since she didn't publicly reveal who she's dating, fight fans assumed she might be seeing former UFC star Brendan Schaub, a fighter who she is regularly spotted with. Another name that has popped up as Rousey's love interest is MMA reporter Michael Mardones, who is known in the fight community as Layzie the Savage. Mardones, a reporter for Middle Easy, has an Instagram page filled with photos of Rousey.

Mardones and Rousey obviously hangout together often, but the two are apparently just good friends. Elsewhere, fans speculated about a possible romance between CM Punk and Rousey. Punk, 35, recently got married to AJ Lee, so that rumor was quickly squashed. Since Rousey's mystery boyfriend was not on hand for UFC 175, the speculation will continue until she reveals who she is dating.
