The festivities, which took place on Jan. 11 at The Joint at Las Vegas' Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, were co-hosted by UFC fighter Chael Sonnen and sports reporter Molly Qeri.
FOX Sports were there to film proceedings and the show will air on FOX Sports Net on Sunday, January 20. Jon Jones won the award for Fighter of the Year.
"MMA Personality of the Year goes to: Joe Rogan!! #MMAAwards," MMA reporter Karyn Bryant tweeted.
Rogan was a great pick, as he is known as the voice of the UFC. He provides excellent color commentary at just about every live UFC event.
Clinch Gear won for Best Technical Clothing Brand, the UFC took home the award for Best MMA Promotion, and Cesar Gracie Jiu-Jitsu won for Best Gym of the Year.
UFC 140's Frank Mir vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira fight took home Comeback of the Year honors, and Bad Boy won for Best Lifestyle Clothing Brand.
Additionally, Michael Bisping won for International Fighter of the Year, Herb Dean got the nod for Referee of the Year, Rafael Cordeiro won for Shawn Tompkins Coach of the Year, and Leon Tabbs earned a lifetime achievement award.
Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com and FUEL TV earned the nod for MMA Journalist of the Year, beating out Ben Fowlkes, Karyn Bryant and others.
Helwani has been covering MMA for close to a decade, and he brought his reporting to a new level in 2012. Helwani interviewed some of the top names in the sport last year, including Jason Miller and Quinton Jackson.
Pretorian won Best Technical Equipment, Frank Mir vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira got the nod for submission of the year for their epic tilt at UFC 140, and Ronda Rousey earned the nod for female fighter of the year.
In other matters, Edson Barboza earned knockout of the year for his insane wheel kick win over Terry Etim at UFC 142.
"Media Source of the Year goes to: Sherdog! #MMAAwards," Bryant announced via Twitter.
Chris Weidman earned MMA breakthrough fighter of the year.
Ronda Rousey was also named Female Fighter of the Year.
It should come as no surprise that Rousey won the award, as she went from relative unknown to national superstar in just one year. Rousey became the first female MMA star to sign with the UFC in 2012.
In other 2012 World MMA Awards, Joe Lauzon vs Jamie Varner earned the nod for Fight of the Year for their August clash at UFC on FOX: Shogun vs Vera.
Lauzon is an absolute beast, and he always puts on a show for his UFC bouts.
Leading man of the year went to Dana White, who beat out Bellator's Bjorn Rebney and Invicta FC's Shannon Knapp.
Jade Bryce, Arianny Celeste, Kelli Hutcherson, Brittney Palmer and Mercedes Terrell were each up for the coveted award of Ring Girl of the Year, and Brittney Palmer earned the nod.
