Tonight UFC made history as the first women's fight in the organizations history took place in Anaheim California. What was once thought to be impossible, the UFC put a women's fight as the main event, when Ronda Rousey faced off against Liz Carmouche.
Rousey who had finished all her fights via an Armbar in the first round of each of her fights, came into the fight 6-0. With all the attention coming Ronday's way, this fight had the chance to be a let down. In true professional form Ronda came out and pushed the pace, and looked to make quick work of Camouche. Camouche relentlessly fought back and gained momentum as she took Rousey's back, and attempted a rear naked choke.
Carmouche had Ronda in trouble with the rear naked choke, however could not get the choke deep enough to submit Rousey. After breaking free of Carmouche's submission attempt, Rousey took the top position and started to work for an Armbar in the final minute of the very first round. With just under 10 seconds left in the first round, Rousey was able to extend Carmouche's arm and finish her with the Armbar.
Once again Rousey pulls off the first round Armbar submission. Rousey now improves to 7-0 and has yet to go into the second round of any fight.
The question that will be asked now is who is next for Ronda? The public wants to see her fight Cyborg, but with weight issues and signing with Invicta, Cyborg seems more of a mirage than a reality.
