Colorado will hold its Presidential caucuses next week, on Tuesday, February 7th. In light of this important race, candidate Ron Paul will make three campaign stops in Colorado this week, on Tuesday January 31st. Paul will stop in Fort Collins, Denver, and Colorado Springs. The stop in Denver will be at noon at the Renaissance Denver Hotel.
With the primaries in full swing and plenty of political action to come over the next ten months, you might be wondering how to involve your kids. Take this opportunity to engage them: teach them about the democratic process and explain the significance of voting. Let them see that you care about the future of your country.
Older kids may be curious about the issues that the candidates are talking about. Some of these issues might seem too controversial to discuss with children. But consider directing them to news sites aimed at children, including Time for Kids, Scholastic News, DOGO News, and pitara kids network. Such sites frame the news in a way that children can understand and relate to, while still discussing important and difficult issues.
An even more exciting way to engage kids is to take them along to a political speech or rally. You might spend more time chasing your kids than actually listening to the speech, but your kids will learn a valuable lesson: those speeches on T.V. aren’t just make-believe and people really care about what happens next. Ron Paul’s rally on Tuesday is a great way to start.
