War hero Chris Kyle, murdered at a shooting range two days ago, was the most effective sniper in U.S. Military history, having been credited for at least 160 confirmed kills in Iraq. Former presidential candidate, and libertarian Republican, Ron Paul, who campaigned against the war in Iraq, tweeted one of the most controversial comments about Kyle on twitter today.
Paul tweeted, “Chris Kyle's death seems to confirm that "he who lives by the sword dies by the sword." Treating PTSD at a firing range doesn't make sense.”
Twitchy.com reported today on the the tweet and it can also be viewed here. The tweet has sparked outrage online from many who have responded on facebook and twitter. The story also states it was Ron Paul himself, not one of his staffers, that wrote the tweet.
Posting on several facebook groups, Jeffrey Dunetz has stated the following, “Its Official: Ron Paul is a Low-Life Scumbag! http://ow.ly/hpX4M “
@hale_razor reacted by tweeting @RonPaul So all veterans, once done serving our nation with honor, deserve to be murdered as civilians? Wow.
@JammieWF tweeted @RonPaul's tweet seems to confirm that Ron Paul is an idiot
Ron Paul's son, Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) appears to have reacted in the opposite way, according to this tweet: EXCLUSIVE: Rand Paul Responds to Ron: 'Chris Kyle Was a Hero'http://shar.es/CLyEo via @BreitbartNews
Paul also issued a tweet later today after that one, saying, “As a veteran, I certainly recognize that this weekend's violence and killing of Chris Kyle were a tragic and sad... http://on.fb.me/14NztZ8”
