Ron Paul blames U.S. for problems overseas, dismisses Iranian nuclear threat

On Monday, Texas Congressman and GOP Presidential candidate Ron Paul revealed more of his offensive foreign policy to Greta van Susteren and claimed the United States is to fault for much of the world's problems.

When asked what, if anything, he would do about current crises, Paul relied on his standard stump of saying what America should not have done for the last 40 years, but offered no real solutions for what is currently taking place.

He started by blaming America, saying that it's "our intervention" that gets us into trouble overseas, adding that we should be "minding our own business" and not fighting undeclared wars.

Paul maintained his stand that the United States should declare war, fight and win the war, then come home.  The problem, however, is that al Qaeda is not a sovereign nation one can declare war upon.

He also claimed that the United States is planning to go into Syria, and at one point claimed we are "already there."

The United States has closed its embassy in that country and withdrawn American diplomats, but the Administration has said it has no plans for military intervention.

"Military intervention has been absolutely ruled out, and we have made that clear from the very beginning," said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Paul, who speaks of  the United States as a dark, evil empire out for conquest, claimed that the United States engages in foreign adventurism to maintains an "empire it can no longer afford."

His solution:  Immediately withdraw all troops from wherever they are stationed and rely on diplomacy, the way Kennedy did with Kruschev, he said.

He was just as adamant that the United States is trying to overthrow the government of Iran and dismissed the threat of a nuclear-armed Iranian regime, despite Monday's endorsement by Ayatollah Khameini of a doctrine calling for genocide and the destruction of Israel.

An article in the ultra-conservative Alef news site read:

"Israel is a satanic media outlet with bombers. Every Muslim is required to arm themselves against Israel."

"I have already noted the usurper state of Israel poses a grave threat to Islam and Muslim countries. Islam and Muslim states must not lose this opportunity to remove the corruption from out midst. All of our problems are because of Israel - Israel of America."

"The first step should be the absolute destruction of Israel. To this end, Iran could make use of long-range missiles. The distance between us is only 2,600 KM. It can be done in minutes."

But Paul says Iran poses no real threat, and claimed Israel has 400 nuclear weapons to defend itself with.  Israel has neither confirmed nor denied being nuclear armed, however, estimates on how many weapons the country might have - assuming it is armed - range from 50 - 200.

Paul finished the interview by saying he gets six times as many donations from military personnel as anyone else in the race, but as usual, offered no real solutions to current problems.
